Record Precipitation

The theme this past spring has been cold and wet...very wet.  In fact, this year, the continental U.S. broke a 124-year record for amount of precipitation in a 12-month period (see below).

Furthermore, during the month of May, it rained 16 days at Green Bay Country Club with and accumulation 4.91”; that is 2” above an average May (seen below) with an every other day rain frequency.

One positive thing that has come out of this wet period is not having to use our irrigation system very often.  Rainwater is always more beneficial than irrigation water.  Below is a comparison of the last 5 years (April-May) of irrigation water pumped.

Let’s hope for a warmer and drier summer and fall.
